David E. Hall Jr., NREMT-P
CEO / Instructor
Dave is the president of RTI and has
over 26 years as a Medic and an EMS Administrator with 16 years managing the
largest EMS agency in southeast Georgia; 7 years as a medic-supervisor for a
large County Police operated EMS. His certifications include: Flight Paramedic; Tactical Medic
Instructor; EMT-Intermediate Instructor; Nationally Registered Paramedic and Paramedic
licensed in the states of Georgia and Florida. He received his Tactical Medic
training at CONTOMS (Counter Narcotics Tactical Operations Medical
Support) program in Bethesda, MD and served as staff member for the CONTOMS
program at FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) in Brunswick,
GA. He is also a licensed US Coast
Guard Captain (charter boat). Dave is a board member of several companies and is
a current member and past chairman of the Chatham County Local Emergency
Planning Committee. Dave is the current (2004) Vice-Chairman of the Chatham
County Citizen Corp Council.
Lt. Gary J. Glemboski, MA, NREMT-I
Director
of Tactical Training
Lt. Glemboski is currently the commander of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Dept. Training Unit. His membership in the departments Emergency Response Team (ERT) includes 21 years and commander of the unit for 12 years. Lt. Glemboski has been in law enforcement since 1978 and has been a certified EMT since 1979. He co-developed the RTI Tactical Medic program with Dave Hall, who was his partner in 1980-1981. Lt. Glemboski is Director of the Georgia Tactical Training Group (G-TAC) and instructs all levels of tactical training and physical skills. Lt. Glemboski has a Masters Degree in Public Administration, and is a graduate of Georgia Law Enforcement Command College and the FBI National Academy. Lt. Glemboski also holds instructor certifications as a scuba instructor with NAUI and ERDI and is a Public Safety Scuba Instructor and is a member of the ERDI Advisory Board. Lt. Glemboski has been published in several publications to include SWAT magazine and the FBI Bulletin.
Richard O. Shields, Jr., M.D., FACEP
Physician / Medical Director
In 1984, Dr. Shields moved to Savannah to join Emergency Medical Group at Memorial Medical Center. While at MMC he served as Medical Director of the Emergency Department and Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, and served on many hospital committees including Medical Executive, Occurrence Screening, Utilization Review, Critical Care, and Trauma. At the end of 1997, Dr. Shields left MMC to help establish SouthCoast UrgentCare. In early 1999 he was recruited to join the expanding group of physicians at GEA. He currently staffs four of the GEA hospital ED's and currently serves as Medical Director of the Candler ED. He also is the web master for GEA Online. Dr. Shields was Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) in 1984, and re-certified in 1994. He also serves as an Oral Board Examiner for ABEM. He is a member and Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has held numerous offices with the Georgia College of Emergency Physicians including a two-year term as President. He currently serves on the GCEP Board of Directors.
Carl R. Boyd, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Physician / Professor
As a CONTOMS "Medical Director's
Course" graduate, he was instrumental in starting the Tactical Medic
Program in Savannah. Carl received his undergraduate degree at the
University of Louisville in 1972 and subsequently completed medical school at
the University of Kentucky in 1976.
Following medical school, Dr. Boyd completed Surgical Residency training
at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. From 1983 to 1993, Dr. Boyd maintained a surgical practice, and
was appointed as the Director of Trauma Services and Medical Director of
LIFESTAR and MedStar emergency medical services. He served as the Director of the Department of Surgical
Education from 1993-2000. Dr. Boyd
is a member of numerous local and national professional societies and has
published over 50 articles in nationally recognized journals. He is a full Professor at Mercer
University School of Medicine and Associate Professor of Surgery at the
Medical College of Georgia. In
addition to being board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical/Critical
Care, Dr. Boyd is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Physician / Rt. Major -US Army
Dr Johnson is the CEO of Southeast
ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery, PC and is a consultant for the Chatham
County Health Department for “Weapons of Mass Destruction."; Major,
U.S. Army, retired. Active duty from July 1975 to August 1986, then again from
June 1990 until retirement in June 2001. Enlisted service from 1975-1981 as U.S
Army Ranger and in U.S. Army Special Forces, attaining rank of E-6. Served
as Physician Assistant and medical platoon leader from 1981-1986 in the Berlin
Brigade, in the 1st Armor Division in Germany and in the Dept of
Family Practice at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA, and attaining
rank of CW3. Following medical school, residency and fellowship training,
served as Chief, Head & Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery and
Assistant Chief, Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Tripler Army Medical
Center, Honolulu, HI from 1996-2001.Bob is an active ATLS Course Director
and State Faculty.
William J.
Bromberg, M.D.
Dr. Bromberg completed his undergraduate
education at The University of Virginia in 1992 and went on to earn his
medical degree from the same school in 1996.
Following completion of his general surgery residency at Lehigh Valley
Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Dr. Bromberg underwent fellowship training
in trauma and surgical critical care at Lehigh Valley's Level I trauma
center. He joined the staff of the
Savannah Surgical Group in 2002 and is an assistant professor of surgery at Mercer
University School of Medicine. Dr.
Bromberg is board certified in both general surgery and critical care.
Thomas J.
DeMaio, EMT-P / Tactical
Dive Medical
Technician-Advanced / Divemaster
Tom DeMaio is currently a Paramedic with Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Air Field EMS. He also works in Savannah as both a 911 system Paramedic and a Mobile Intensive Care unit Critical Care (MICU) Paramedic. Tom has 11 years EMS experience and 15 years of Law Enforcement Experience. Tom spent 3+ years as a Deputy U.S. Marshall where he also served as the Firearms Instructor for the Southern District of Georgia. He is also a Divemaster and a Dive Medical Technician-Advanced (DMT-A). Tom teaches all levels of waterborne training; Law Enforcement Tactical Swimmer (LETS 1 & 2), Emergency Response Diver, (ERD-A, 1 &2) etc. Additional instructor certifications include: BTLS and PHTLS advanced, BCLS Instructor Trainer, Advanced Haz Mat Life Support Instructor, PALS Instructor, First Responder Instructor, Pre Hospital Management of Traumatic Brain Injury - Train the Trainer. Tom is also certified by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training as a Law Enforcement Instructor – General Studies and Firearms Instructor.
Kevin J.
Braziel, NREMT-P
Captain Seymour EMS,
Connecticut
Kevin has
14 years training in the martial arts. He has studied under two Grand Masters
in Japan and is an expert in the Art of Edged Weapons. He served eight (8)
years in the U.S. Marine Corps, during which time he was with the 31st
MEU SOC and Scout Sniper Force Recon. Some of his training
includes SERE, Combat Water Survival Swimmer (CWSS), Mountain Warfare
/ Survival School, Combat Tracking, Primary Marksmanship Instructor, and Small
Arms Weapons Instructor. He is currently working
out of Bridgeport, Conn. Along with being a founding member of CT 1
DMAT, (Dept. of Homeland Security) Kevin is presently Captain of Seymour
Emergency Medical Service in Conn.. He is a NREMT - I and an EMT-T
certified in PHTLS, PALS, ACLS and is a CPR / First Aid Instructor
for ARC and AHA. Kevin is currently in the Joint
Hospital Paramedic Program through the Yale School of Medicine.

Director, Training and Special
Operations, Jasper County Emergency Services, S.C. Doug has been
instructing students for 7 years in various fire and EMS related topics. He is
an active member of Ridgeland Police Departments a Reserve Patrol Officer /
Tactical Medic. Doug is the assigned Tactical Medic for Jasper County Sheriff's
Office. The majority of his Tactical experience is from the U.S.M.C
where he was active duty for 4 years. Doug has been a paramedic for 6 years,
and he has been a Firefighter for over 15 years. Doug was a graduate of the
first Tactical Medic Course at Rescue Training, Inc. Instructor and certs
include: NREMT-P; AHA Instructor; ASHI Instructor; NFA Instructor;
Firefighter/Rescue Tech/Haz-Mat Tech

They have considerable experience in providing medical support services to the oil industry.
Jason McAvoy, NREMT-P
Tactical Medic
Jason is currently a full time Paramedic with Wilkes Co. EMS and a CCEMT-P/Flight Paramedic based out of Augusta GA. Jason received his Tactical Medic certificate in 2001. He supports several different counties including and surrounding Wilkes. He has been in EMS for 8 years and has certifications in ACLS, BTLS, PALS, BLS Instructor, Traumatic Brain Injury Management, Aircraft Safety, CCEMT-P, Haz-Mat Awareness, Farm-medic, Lifeguard, Open Water Diver, and Tactical Medic.
Walter Nichols, NREMT-P
Walter is a Flight Paramedic for LifestarOne in Savannah in addition to his responsibilities as the Director of EMS for Ft. Stewart/ HAAF EMS. He is an instructor in practically all advanced EMS courses, including ACLS, BTLS, PHTLS, PALS, etc. Walter brings almost 20 years of experience to the program.
